On July 5, the Latvian Academy of Sciences (LAS) awarded diplomas to new members of the Academy, who were elected in the elections of new members held last year. At the general meeting of LAS held on November 26, 2020, eight full members, four foreign members and one honorary member, as well as seven corresponding members were elected as new members of LAS. Among the elected is Dr. Uģis Cābulis, Director of the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry (LSIWC), Head of the Polymer Laboratory of LSIWC.
