Doctor degree is defended on 24th of May in 2013 at Latvia University of Agriculture, Forest Faculty. Title of thesis:  “Self-binding boards of steam-exploded wood particles”. Doctor degree obtained in Material Science sector in Wood Materials and Technologies sub-sector.

Scientific interests and competence

Research and development (processing, manufacturing, testing and evaluation) of biocomposites, including self-binding/binderless fibre-/particleboards and bonded with natural adhesives (lignin, suberin). .
