Riga is the capital of Latvia and can be reached:

  • by air: direct flights from various European cities or via transfer centres like Frankfurt, Copenhagen etc.
  • by car
  • by train
  • by sea: easily reached by ferries from Stockholm, Sweden.

Passports and visas
All foreigners entering Latvia must have a valid passport.
No visa is required for the citizens of the most European countries. Participants, particularly from non-European countries, are however advised to check the visa requirements existing for them to enter Latvia. Information about visa requirements can be found on the internet (for example http://www.mfa.gov.lv/en/service/visas/) or from the relevant Embassy of Latvia.
