National Scale Scientific Cooperation / Networking
International Scientific Cooperation / Networking
Wood Modification Network in the in the Baltic Sea Region are engaged with the transformation and modification of wood. The goal is to develop high-tech and energy-efficient processes, which enable the production of highly sustainable products made of wood. This is an issue with considerable potential for innovation. The research projects directly relate to, and further develop, application-oriented questions generated by industry and enterprises.
6 Partners, 4 Baltic sea countries:
- Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry, Latvia,
- Poznań University of Life Sciences, Poland,
- Uppsala University / Sweden, Linnaeus University, Sweden
- Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Sweden,
- Technische Universität Dresden, Germany,
- University of Applied Sciences Eberswalde, Germany.
A NORDIC-Baltic network in Wood Material Science and Engineering (WSE) (see also) promote cooperation between researchers dealing with wood science and engineering (WSE). This network has provided for annual meetings arranged in turn by the participating countries. The meetings serve as a platform for exchanging information on new research initiatives within the wood research community of the Nordic/Baltic countries.
