Scientific interests and competence

Polyurethane development from renewable raw materials. Analysis of synthesis raw materials (characterization of tall oil, linseed oil, and rapeseed oil - acid value, the degree of unsaturation, amount of resin acids, fatty acids and unsaponifiable part). Epoxidation, kinetics, and analysis of tall oil, linseed oil and rapeseed oil. Synthesis of biopolyols, analysis and determination of the optimal synthesis conditions (type of catalyst, concentration, time and temperature of synthesis). Biopolyol analysis (hydroxyl number, acid number, iodine number, epoxy number, peroxide number, viscosity, moisture content, density, color). Production and characterization of rigid polyurethane/polyisocyanurate foams and different composite materials.
